Challenge: What Does Luck Look Like?
Age 3 - Luck is that whimsical green fairy who lives under the clover in my back yard, always taunting and teasing me to play hide and seek.
Age 8 - Luck is the officious ogre under my desk who put Eddie Knox, the meanest kid in third grade, in the seat behind me where he can pull my pigtails every 10 seconds.
Age 12 - Luck is the slippery, slithering past, just out of reach every time I try to tell a lie but end up tongue tied.
Age 17 - Luck is the golden enchantress who led me to find him - Eddie Knox - the love of my life!
Second place winner: Parker Gauntt
What does luck look like? Luck is your angel and your demon and is as insubstantial as the morning mist. It comes and goes like an ocean tide and rides on your shoulder like the manifestation of mischief. It has beauty and it has horror and can build you up or devastate you. To rely upon it is to chance every aspect of your dignity, reputation and pride. To see her smile is to rise above the sun itself and to feel its bite is to lose it all.
Third place winner: Christopher Buttimer
What does luck look like? It comes in all different shapes and sizes. All colors as well. Luck is a shapeshifter. It becomes whatever it wants to be.

First place winner for 3 hour Kayak Tour - Morgan Ruedlinger
Water: There is nothing so universal as water, besides love of course. Both are cleansing, fulfilling and essential to life.
Second place winner for 2 hour Kayak Tour - Elizabeth Buttimer
Water, fresh cool from the tap into the kettle boiling, rolling, red hot whistling ready for the tea cup and in goes Earl Grey, the liquor diffuses to a light, caramel color, frangranced with Oil of Bergamot, strong and inviting makes my morning brighter.
Third place winner - Melinda Smith
When I am down or feeling alone, I go to the beach to sit and watch the waves. Even though the waves are powerful, I feel a sense of peace knowing god made the ocean and will be with me just like the ocean is with me to calm my fears.
